THE CHALLENGE
The challenge for this project was to effectively waterproof the new 8’ x 9’ precast concrete tunnel sections that were being craned into place. The purpose of this tunnel was to provide underground access from the parking lot outside the speedway … to the infield of the track. The retaining wall also needed waterproofing protection. The tunnel was 222 feet long and allows access from the grandstands to the infield area by going under the track.
THE SOLUTION
In this case, the decision was made to apply the TechCrete 2500 Waterproofing System to the precast tunnel, as well as the concrete retaining wall. By selecting this system, the raceway ensured decades of protection.
THE RESULTS
The project went very smoothly and was completed within only a few days … instead of weeks.
